Steve Ditko, you're the man!
There are some people that claim that Ditko's Spider-man episodes are inferior to the ones done by John Romita and, boy, are they wrong! Romita is a fine craftsman and he draws pretty girls but in the atmosphere department there's nobody better than Ditko and that's what really counts, at least in my book. I especially recommend Ditko's run on Dr. Strange...

I looove my Moleskine, yessir, I dooo! :)))
My pal Tonči got me this classy and expensive Moleskine notebook for my birthday. At first Iwas too shy to use it because it's really fancy and it kind of makes you feel like you've got the responsibility to fill it with only the most beautiful drawings ever... But, eventually the panic slowly subsided and now I'm using it much often. :) Thanks again, Tonči!

The Band
I was just trying to listen, not watch, Martin Scorsese's "The Last Waltz" documentary while drawing today but the damn thing didn't want to leave me alone so I put the actual work on hold and started to sketch the faces of people appearing on the screen... Well, I rarely draw from life anyway so I consider this as a useful exercise. :)

Aaand...
... here's the real thing. The sketch looks rougher and may be more powerful but that's the way it always is with sketches.

Tristeza
This hommage goes to Hugo Pratt. I've been reading a lot of his stuff lately, especially his older comics which were beautifully rendered. Pratt took Milton Caniff's style and brought it to a whole new level. The lightness of Pratt's style could be very deceptive at first glance because if you look closer you'd discover an immensely talented and hardworking artist underneath.
KIRBY!!!
This is just a sketch for the variant cover of the Invincible #10 (not the american version, of course but for the one published in Serbia and Montenegro). I'm doing a lot of hommages lately so this one goes to my favorite champion and inventor of super-hero comics - Jack "King" Kirby. I really tried to incorporate all his trademarks in this drawing. The crackling energy, unleashed rage... Kirby drew comics straight from his gut. He was crude and raw but also honest, inspiring and indestructible. Hail to the KING, baby!!!
Ptica uzvraća udarac! :)
Okej, ovo nije ni blizu toliko dobar portret kao ovaj ovdje, ali šta je - tu je. :)
