Roy Crane's cowgirl

Image hosting by Photobucket
I was studying yesterday my favorite artist from the newspaper strip era - Roy Crane... Especially the way he draws girls, with clean lines. Crane's women look like they've stepped out of the films from early 20's and 30's. Make-up and all. Everything in Crane's comics, especially Wash Tubbs & Captain Easy is drawn with a few precise lines and his style is unique because it's neither cartoony nor realistic. That's why I like it.

Maestro pin-up

Image hosting by Photobucket
Maestro is a twisted version of the popular, and my favorite, Marvel Comics character - the Hulk from the two-part Hulk: Future Imperfect series by Peter David and George Peréz. Maestro is, in fact, Bruce Banner/Hulk but from the Earths' future where nuclear war wiped 70% percent of the human population, along with all the super heroes. Only Hulk survived, his psyche even more damaged, and now it's his turn to get even with the human race that has hunted him for as long as he remembers. Who will stop Maestro's tyranny since there's no real army or power anymore? Or is mankind destined to pay the price for all the wrongs that goverment and people in power did to Bruce Banner and his alter ego the Hulk in the past?
